I started collecting toy trucks and cars eight years ago. Needless to say, I have quite a few. The first truck that I bought was a Hess truck. These trucks are sold at Hess gas stations. You can buy them once a year around Thanksgiving. Each year Hess makes a different truck. They are so collectible that if you're not fast enough they will be sold out within a few days. Some of these Hess trucks are worth hundreds of dollars. I have almost every truck that Hess has made. I'm collecting them for fun and as an investment. I've found Hess trucks at Flea Markets for a few dollars. When I get it home I research it on the Internet and find out that its worth hundreds of dollars.
Hess also sells plexy glass cases to display your toy trucks in. This protects them from dust and keeps them clean.
Always save the boxes that your toy trucks and cars come in. The box, if it is in excellent condition increases the value of your toy trucks and cars. I've also collected Hot Wheels die cast cars. These little cars are very collectible and some of them can be very valuable. You can find them in almost any department store and even pharmacies. Try to buy the ones that are unique an unusual. These will usually increase in value very quickly. If you buy them in a box or plastic wrap, keep them in it because this also increases their value.
If you have a spare room in your home, make a few shelves to display your toy trucks and cars on. They are always a source of conversation. At the same time , you will get much enjoyment from being able to admire your collection.
Sometimes Hot Wheels will make a series of one particular car. These are always fun to collect because you will really want to find each car in that series.
I receive the most enjoyment from buying and selling one of my toy trucks or cars. This allows me to be able to go out and buy more toys.
